Sagittarius A* Observations with NuSTAR
Abstract
The Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) gives an unprecedented view of the 3-79 keV X-ray emission of the center of our Galaxy. This region contains Sagittarius A*, the Milky Way's central supermassive black hole, as well as the supernova remnant Sagittarius A East, the dust and gas clouds of Sagittarius A West, and a strong diffuse X-ray background. NuSTAR's observation of this neighborhood sheds light on possible models of accretion onto the black hole and helps clarify the high-energy source population. We present analysis of nearly 400 ks of observations performed since July 2012, including flare event investigations and a smoothed image of the region.
